12/31/2023 0 Comments Leaving Social Media?I'm posting this as a heads up and explanation to those who follow and interact with me across various platforms. I've made the decision that in the new year I will no longer be using Instagram, Twitter / X or Discord. Perhaps this isn't a universal experience, but I've found that no matter how much I try to curate my experiences on these platforms they remain a very negative experience for the most part. In addition to trying to escape the negativity these platforms bring into my life I also find my experiences here quite isolating and lonely despite these being labeled as social media, it always feels discouraged to interact outside of your specific circles. I find my experiences on older corners of the web (or in some cases, merely imitations of the old net) a much more positive experience overall, so I am opting to relocate my active online presence to forums, SpaceHey and similar older platforms. I will include up to date links of where I can be found on my About page for those who wish to remain in contact. Happy New Year to everyone, my final message to wrap up this year is that I encourage everyone to prioritize what works best for your needs both on and offline, as someone who struggles with mental and physical health as well as neurodivergency this is what I need and if you are someone who partakes in New Years Resolutions, I think you should consider what works best for your mind and heart. Good luck in yet another chapter, this upcoming chapter for me is caring for all the parts of me that the world around me discourages. To end off this reminder as to why I never blog, as someone who tends to aimlessly ramble on, I will just cut myself short right here, otherwise I could just keep babbling on forever... Peace outtt fuckerzzz!

1/26/2023 0 Comments Graffiti Flashback #2As with most tagged spots I revisit years later, this too has faded greatly, although not as much as if it was in a location receiving more direct light hitting it. The only downside to my most recent visit is that there was a quite a bit more water surrounding where I would have needed to be to get pictures of the same angles, oh well! Still interesting to see how it's changed. October 2016 October 2022

8-Track (2000) Retard-O-Bot 2000 11 minutes 25 seconds Review: This is the origin point for one of the most underrated groups and songwriters (Peter Pepper) of all time. It’s hard to take this album seriously when all but one song clocks in at under two minutes, and each is a multi-layered collage of chopped-and-screwed Ableton samples with Peter and Johnny Robot shouting over the top. The lyrics reflect what life was like for young adults at the start of the 2000s (living with your parents, unchecked spam e-mail and computer viruses, 1-800-COLLECT, etc), but even then it’s all given an irreverent, immature twist that lives up to the band’s name. Having said all that, I must stress that the album is incredibly catchy and fun to listen to. The song arrangements show immense competence on the part of Peter Pepper, who must have learned his workstation inside and out before putting the music together. You’ll notice something new with every listen. Favorite track: “Junk Mail”. Has It Aged Well?: “Chief Smoke ‘Um Rot” absolutely hasn’t, with its lyrics stereotyping Native Americans as broken-English smokers and casino racketeers, complete with background ululating. “Slow Dance” may cause some people to shift in their seats with ASMR vocals whispering “sexy”, “ooh baby” and “horny” over and over. I don’t need to address the band name, do I? Score: B-. It’s short, but it’s impactful. Cacophonous, but deliberately so. Some lyrics are okay, others aren’t. At the end of the day, though, it’s a bop. Is This Project Active?: No. Retard-O-Bot morphed into the Peter Pepper solo project in 2011. The material from more recent years is nothing like the early days. Review by Zhir Vengersky
